Five Tried-and-True Marketing Strategies for the New Startup

Published

on

As a new startup, you want to hit the ground running. Well, you’ll need an aggressive marketing strategy to get where you want to go. However, contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a lot of capital to get your marketing strategies off the ground. Here five simple and straightforward marketing strategies for any entrepreneur or new business owner.

1. Email Marketing

Email is an inexpensive form of marketing that allows you to reach your target audience no matter where they are or what they’re doing. You can use it to promote new product launches and or keep customers up-to-date on your latest discounts and special offers. Ultimately, email marketing will help you become that expert in your field and it’s a perfect way to constantly remind your customers of your latest and greatest offering.

2. Free Website Downloads

Take advantage of the free economy. Offer your customers free downloads in the forms of e-books and whitepapers. Combine these downloads with discounts on future purchase and or prizes. Amazon discount codes are aggressively used by the stalwart in order to continually up-sell and cross-sell products and well-recognized brand names in the same verticals. Make it a point to borrow from that strategy and give your customers something for free.

3. Webcasts and Podcasts

People admire passion. Passion is meant to be seen and heard, not read. Therefore, doing a webcast or podcast will come in handy. This is a great way to vlog about your business and what you are about and what your company represents. People will connect with this far more than they will with an article. Again, you don’t have to spend a lot to make a lot when it comes to getting your name into your market. Hold your own webcast and podcast session. Your customers will have the chance to ask you direct questions, ones they need answered and ones that will likely lead to a sale. This is the best soft-sale approach in today’s digital age.

4. Keyword-Focused Content

Make sure your website and blog’s content is keyword-focused. Your content creation strategy must use the most common keywords and sentences your customers use in online searches. Finally, combine your text with eye-catching images, photos, graphs and infographics, and don’t be afraid to do your own video. It costs you nothing to get in front of a camera and do a video you can post on your website or on YouTube.

5. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Campaigns

Reaching your target audience has to involve running a PPC campaign. These digital advertising campaigns are easy to run and just as easy to track. You’ll have complete control over your budget and you’ll clearly see where leads are coming from and how much they cost. Online marketing is a more precise form of marketing, one that allows you to define your exact costs of generating high-quality leads.

Each of these aforementioned strategies are relatively inexpensive. However, that doesn’t mean that you should leave them on autopilot. Make sure you clearly track performance and always be willing to make adjustments, if need be.
